The Lake County Symphony Orchestra closes its 2025–26 season with a program that spans folk traditions, jazz flair, and Romantic symphonic depth. Percy Grainger’s Green Bushes opens the evening with lively folk-inspired energy, followed by Artie Shaw’s swinging Clarinet Concerto, a tour de force for soloist and orchestra. After intermission, the orchestra performs Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8.

Vernon Township welcomes you to join us at our second annual VTPalooza for a family-friendly night out at William E. Peterson Park! We'll have bounce houses, food vendors, lawn games, discounted swim entry and live music for everyone to enjoy. Also thanks to our partnership with Culver's of Buffalo Grove and Lincolnshire, there will be meet-and-greet opportunities with Scoopie, the Culver's mascot.

Additionally, at the Vernon Township information table, we will be running a raffle for a family punch card set (one adult, one child), a free Culver's custard for a year, and a free Butterburger for a year with all funds going to support the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Come join us at Peterson Park to watch a movie under the stars! At this event you can celebrate the end of summer while watching Disney’s Frozen with friends and family!

The pool will be open for swimming at a discounted rate from 5pm until close and the concession stand will be open late if you need movie snacks such as popcorn, candy, slushies, or ice cream.

The movie itself will start at approximately 8:30 pm and has a runtime of approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.

We will also be holding a raffle to benefit Vernon Township Food Pantry. (Information about raffle ticket prices and prizes coming soon!) Or if you bring (non-expired and unopened) donations of non-perishable food for the Vernon Township Food Pantry, you’ll get a thank you sticker!
