CGCC - Laser Quest Physics Field Trip

Light and Optics:

The Light and Optics program is tailored for students studying physics. This curriculum based field trip is an exciting way to revisit classroom content.  We make the learning memorable and show how these concepts apply in the real world.  The Electromagnetic Spectrum is brought to life.


 This Program Covers:

  • Light Reflection and Light Refraction
  • The Law of Reflection and the Point of Incidence
  • Dispersion, the Visible Spectrum, and the Electromagnetic Spectrum

PLEASE REGISTER BY TUESDAY, AUGUST 15TH


COST

$10.50/person members, $15/person non-members (adults pay if they play laser quest, but are free to just attend the class). 


DURATION 

2.5h (includes lunch break time; please bring brown bag lunch)


SWAG

pre & post lesson plans will be given to parents

certificate of completion will be given to kids


WHAT WE'LL DO

lessons/activities teaching physics

2 games of laser tag


MIN/MAX

min. 20, max. 32 paid participants


OTHER NOTES

nonparticipating siblings can hang out in lunch room

siblings who are at least 6yo can register and play laser tag, too (although they will just hang out during the class part)

place is ada accessible

AGE RANGE

This is geared towards "8th grade level,", whatever that means to gifted kids! If you think your kid[s] would comprehend the material, you are welcome to attend.


PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Parents are welcome to participate or hang out in lunch room, but must remain on-site. This is not a drop-off class.


REFUNDS

There are no refunds unless the field trip is canceled.
