Description of Services
In addition to parenting a 2E PG child, I am a private teacher/learning facilitator and education consultant for parents moving outside of public and private education. Whether that is a matter of helping determine the best path, creating a learning/curriculum plan, creating curriculum, overseeing/supervising independent study, helping identify longer term goals and a path to get there--I am there to help parents educate their children in the best possible way for their child and their family. I am a second career teacher--formerly in corporate technology management and project management and a firm grasp of success factors in the corporate world. My Master's is in Teaching (which is front-line, classroom vs. Education which is more systemic). I am a licensed middle and high school level teacher in IL and formerly in NJ.
Description of Experience with the Gifted
In addition to parenting my own 2E PG child, I have managed gifted students (identified and unidentified) as a former public high school teacher and foster parent of middle school aged children. I have additional graduate credits in Special Education from a university that recognized the gifted as those needing accommodation to learn in a classroom setting. Former board member for Midwest Academy for Gifted Education (MAGE) from its start through 2022. Current board member of Prairie Paideia Learning Center.
