This month we will discuss the definitions of giftedness and the most common characteristics of gifted children. This will serve as an excellent introduction to giftedness.  

Those following along in the book might like to read chapters 1 through 3.  

First Tuesdays is facilitated by Kathy Nilles and Newenka DuMont.  Kathy is the mother of a gifted son, has a masters in gifted education and is the manager of  Parent Services for the National Association for Gifted Children.  Newenka is the parent of two gifted daughters, the president of the Chicago Gifted Community Center, on the board of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children and a master SENG Parent Group facilitator.  

The member fee for First Tuesdays is $3 per session or $10 for all 7 sessions.
