Social Dynamics 

This month we will discuss the social interactions of gifted children, who can struggle as they are out of step with social expectations.  We will discuss finding friends, dealing with peers and sibling issues.   

Those following along in the book might like to read chapters 8 and 9.  

First Tuesdays is facilitated by Kathy Nilles and Newenka DuMont.  Kathy is the mother of a gifted son, has a masters in gifted education and is the manager of  Parent Services for the National Association for Gifted Children.  Newenka is the parent of two gifted daughters, the president of the Chicago Gifted Community Center, on the board of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children and a master SENG Parent Group facilitator.  

The member fee for First Tuesdays is $3 per session or $10 for the remainder of the series. Non-members pay $ 6 per session.  Membership is $25 annually, won't you consider joining CGCC and supporting our mission to facilitate educational and emotional support for gifted children and their families?  Fee waivers are always available, contact Newenka DuMont for details.
