Build and Program a Lego 

WeDo Robot! Will you build an alligator, a goalie, an airplane? Select a robot from a dozen possibilities. Follow the building plans step by step and see your robot take shape. Then connect to a laptop to program actions and sounds 

Chemical Reactions: 

What happens when you mix chemicals together? How do they react? Is the reaction exothermic or endothermic? Try your hand at different experiments!

Grades 4-8 

Build and Test Straw Rocket Launchers! 

How will your straw rocket launcher fly most effectively? Design, build, test, analyze, tweak, test again. Then think some more and perhaps tweak and test again or try out a new idea by building and testing another launcher. The possibilities for experimentation are endless in this hands-on class. 

Grow Your Own Microbes! Swab for microbes on surfaces that may look dirty or that may look quite clean. Learn what nutrients microbes need to grow and how to prepare petri dishes. Take your petri dishes home (carefully sealed). What will grow in them?

Note: Students will take both classes described for their grade level.
