Total Lunar Eclipse Viewing

  • January 20, 2019
  • 8:00 PM
  • Cernan Earth and Space Center, Triton College, River Grove

The Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow and, weather permitting, we will be able to witness a Total Lunar Eclipse. You can watch the lunar eclipse from home or you can join us at the Cernan Earth and Space Center for a FREE public observing event.

Outside: Telescopes will be set up to look at the Moon and other winter wonders.

Inside: There will be planetarium programs, hot chocolate, activities and streaming video.

Worried about staying up late on a Sunday night?

The next day is the MLK holiday so many people will not have to go to school or work.

A lunar eclipse is perfectly safe to look at and no special equipment (or glasses) are needed.

The next Total Lunar Eclipse visible from here is not until May 2022.

Admission is FREE.
