  • January 24, 2019
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Geneva Park District Sunset Community Center

Vanguard Gifted Academy Presents:

Many gifted children have complex emotions that can lead to feelings of disappointment and frustration. As parents, it can be difficult to know how to help your children reduce the impact of perceived failures and enhance personal satisfaction in their daily lives. Two experts will introduce a simple yet powerful framework of personality traits and emotions that will spark conversations between parents and children as well as guide children to shift their emotional energies in a more effective direction.

Dr. M. Mark McKee, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Naperville, IL, is the author of Raising a Successful Child and has dedicated his career to studying the dynamics of parent-child relationships and the emotional development of children. He has specialized in working with gifted children for over 25 years.

Shannon Holub is a passionate gifted educator with 20 years of experience in a variety of public and private school settings. Her focus on understanding and addressing the social-emotional needs of her students as a first step has been instrumental in creating positive and trusting teacher-student relationships. Miss Holub is the Intermediate Master Teacher at Vanguard Gifted Academy in Batavia, IL.

Free. All parents are invited to attend this informative and insightful session!
