Family Festival: Making Moves

Begin in the Ryan Learning Center
All ages


Explore modes of movement through creative art making, storytelling, performance, and collaborative activities throughout the Ryan Learning Center and the museum. Experience the recently reinstalled gallery of African Art through hands-on activities and conversations with teens from the Art Institute's Youth Programs.
  • Participate in African dance workshops, and enjoy performances by Ayodele Drum and Dance.
  • Experience creative-movement activities inspired by children's picture books with programs led by Nubia Henderson of kids jamm.
  • Create a wearable work of art that moves with you, and make spinning pictures, optical toys, and more.

The Chicago Gifted Community Center (CGCC) is a member-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by parents to support the intellectual and emotional growth of gifted children and their families.
