Pianos in the Parks builds community by bringing pianos donated by the Keys 4/4 Kids, Chicago Public Libraries, Alden Piano Company, and by individual donors to 10 Chicago Park District Parks from June 1 through August 1. These instruments offered in open spaces provide student, amateur and professional musicians the opportunity to connect with their peers and share in the joy of music-making. The program offers free piano lessons, recordings of performances, and the opportunity to create site-specific artworks and compositions.
