Dinner this month will be held at:
Fatpour Tap Works McCormick
2206 S Indiana Ave, Chicago, IL 60616
We will meet for an informal dinner to share stories and to provide support for raising gifted children. These suppers will generally be scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month.
This month we will be joined by a gifted educator and researcher, Rhonda Stern.
Originally an attorney, Rhonda Stern has been in the field of gifted and talented since 2000. She worked as a gifted resource teacher for nearly a decade and continued as an advocate for gifted and talented students, with an emphasis on 2e students. This summer, Stern successfully defended her dissertation, The Case For Joy in Learning: Teachers and Students Perceptions of Flow Experiences in the Upper Elementary Classroom at DePaul University in the field of Curriculum Studies (degree to be awarded in 11/19). Stern sits on the board of the Chicago Gifted Community Center and the advisory board of Cahn Scholars (promoting excellence among principals in the Chicagoland area). She is also an avid environmentalist.
This event is "free" as everyone will pay their own bill at the end of the evening. Please register so that we can make the proper table arrangements.
These Suppers are a great way to meet other parents in your area. If you are interested in helping put together a Supper in your area, please contact Newenka.
