The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is hosting an Open House at the O'Brien Water Reclamation Plant in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Center.

Our doors will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (last tour begins at 3 p.m.)

All ages + STEM activities + Meet staff from our various departments!

  • See how this plant serves 1.3 million people within a 143 square mile area.
  • Watch how an average flow of 230 million gallons/day is treated.
  • Meet with staff from Human Resources if you are in the market for a new job.
  • Visit with our Procurement staff if you are seeking to do business with us.
  • Make a bit bead project with staff from Information Technology.
  • Examine water quality with a microbiologist.

Please wear attire suitable for an industrial environment (no high heels or flip flops).
