Hour of Code: The STEAM Machine

Join the nationwide Hour of Code initiative that helps kids learn basic coding.

The STEAM Machine is a maker space where kids age 7-13 are invited to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math through hands-on workshops.

Workshops are held Monday-Wednesday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Registration is not required but limited to the first 8 kids who arrive. One parent/guardian per participant is allowed to sit in, if desired. Doors open at 4:25 p.m.

The Chicago Gifted Community Center (CGCC) is a member-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by parents to support the intellectual and emotional growth of gifted children and their families.

We  are an all volunteer-based organization that relies on annual memberships from parents, professionals, and supporters to provide organizers with web site operations, a registration system, event insurance, background checks, etc.
