"NASA STEM Stars" Talk With Experts From the Virtual Reality Training Lab

Did you know that part of an astronaut’s training is done using virtual reality, or VR? Learn how NASA’s Virtual Reality Training Lab uses VR to help astronauts practice future space walks and other tasks before ever launching.

“NASA STEM Stars” is a web-chat series connecting students with subject matter experts to learn about STEM careers and topics. This episode features NASA software and simulation engineers Angelica Garcia and Jonathan Schlueter who specialize in creating virtual environments for astronaut training. Angelica and Jon will share what it’s like creating these simulations and preparing astronauts for their upcoming missions. Listen to a short presentation about Angelica and Jon’s journey to NASA and current work, then come ready with questions as we answer them live.
