Online: Parent Strategies to Promote Grit in Gifted Children

  • August 01, 2020
  • 1:00 PM
  • Zoom, Northwestern Center for Talent Development

More than talent and even intelligence, the concept of grit has emerged as a central trait necessary to success. Grit speaks to a person’s ability to sustain interest and passion in a goal even when it is not quickly or easily achieved. Growth mindset, a related concept, changes a person’s narrative from “I can’t do it” to “I can’t do it yet, but I can learn.” Together, these traits add to a child’s overall resilience and sense of competence. This presentation will explore the research behind these conceptsand discuss how parents can utilize strategies which promote grit and growth mindset in their children.

This free event is sponsored by the Northwestern's Center for Talent Development and it is presented by Dr. Dawn Livorsi.
