Exploring Home Education Options During COVID-19

Last spring, the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic saw many thrust into home learning for the first time. As we face uncertainty surrounding the re-opening of schools in the fall and the likelihood that remote learning will continue to some extent, families and educators are exploring a variety of options to ensure that children’s physical, emotional, social, and academic needs are met.

Join GiftedNYS' panel of experts as they explore some of the home learning options available in New York State, how they might impact students and families, and things to consider when comparing options. Whether you’re searching for ways to supplement your child’s school plan or considering trying something entirely new for your gifted or twice exceptional student during this unprecedented time, you are welcomed to the discussion.

Note: the legal aspects, provided in large part by Mr. McNelis will be NYS specific, but the many considerations around home education options at this time will be "universal."
