Joseph DalSanto, Associate Professor of Astronomy, College of DuPage
We live in a vast, incredible universe. Our knowledge of it has changed dramatically in just the last century. What do we now know of the local universe of other galaxies and clusters, the distant universe with its active galaxies, quasars and superclusters of galaxies, and the beginning of it all? How do astronomers research and learn about structures millions or billions of light-years away and even the history of the universe all the way back to the Big Bang? What are dark matter and dark energy and how do they affect the universe? Join Professor Joe DalSanto on a journey to the farthest reaches of space and time in Our Amazing Universe.
This virtual talk is free as part of the Sage Series but requires pre-registration in order to receive the webinar link. Registration closes on Wednesday, November 11.To register, call Continuing Education at (630) 942-2208.
