Join us for a virtual STEM festival designed just for girls ages 10-16! Hear from female professionals who work on environmentally friendly design projects and take part in fun activities led by leading cultural institutions.
This virtual event includes a panel discussion with women in the field, as well as breakout activity sessions led by five top cultural institutions in the U.S. A list of materials needed to complete the activities will be provided to registrants two weeks prior to the event.
The day kicks off with an all-female panel discussion about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers. We encourage you to plan for participation in the full day, as this is a programmed event with specific start times. Here's a sneak peek:
10-11am
Curious about STEM careers? Bring your questions to help shape the conversation. Girls will hear about the unique challenges and successes a panel of female professionals faced as they pursued careers in architecture, engineering and design. We will also discuss how and why architects design with the environment in mind as we move towards a smaller carbon footprint.
11am-Noon
It’s time to breakout! Students will have the opportunity to preregister for a workshop that interests them. These design challenges will be led by top cultural institutions from across the U.S.
