Online: Arctic Adaptations

  • December 05, 2020
  • 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
  • Zoom, National Museum of Natural History

The exploration of natural history doesn't have to just happen at the museum - it can happen in your home too!

Join museum educators as they walk your family through science skill-building activities and ways to explore the natural world and collections.

Come and discover how animals have adapted to live in the cold Arctic climate! Our museum’s ocean educators will help us learn about the narwhal, an animal uniquely adapted to live in the Arctic. Together we will practice making observations and asking questions to better understand how adaptations help this animal survive.

Please make sure to have the following materials:

  • Cardboard/Paper Tube (like from a toilet paper roll)
  • Piece of white paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue
  • Crayons or markers

How to Join: The program will be presented on Zoom video. Click this link to join.  Registration is optional.  For more details about this free event, please click here. Check out their calendar for future similar events.
