Career Dives: Live Conversations in Marine Science with Dr. Blake Ushijima

Learn how Smithsonian marine science professionals earned their fins through this Fall series. Discussions will include how they found their paths into the marine sciences, interests and research. Bring your questions for live Q&A sessions! 

This session features Dr. Blake Ushijima. Blake began his research career by studying coral diseases in the Pacific Ocean. He now studies bacteria responsible for the stony coral tissue loss disease outbreak in the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about his research and the probiotic work his lab is doing to help treat and protect these endangered corals.
