Book Club Discussion
& Virtual Coffee

You’re invited to join hosts Violeta Balan, a CGCC board member along with Katherine Peterson, a SENG Model Parent Group Facilitator, and board member in an online book club conversation created to support your journey as parents of gifted children.

This week, we will discuss the topic of self-compassion.  We are suggesting this book: Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself by Dr. Kristin Neff.  However, if you have read or prefer other self-compassion books, please feel free to revise those and share with us your thoughts on the topic.  If you do not have time to read a whole book, consider reviewing this article on what is not self-compassion or check out these lovely guided meditations spoken by Dr. Neff.  This article also gives some great tips on how to practice self-compassion.

Log in details are sent in a confirmation email after you register.  Katherine has shared a mindfulness practice recording for us to consider using, if needed, and she has also authored this blog post on the art of doing LESS.  Next meeting  will occur in two weeks on March 25, 2021 and we will continue our discussion on the same topic.

Welcome to you all, with whatever time you have to partake in building our gifted community through reading, understanding and conversation.  Please reach out with any questions to Katherine Peterson or Violeta Balan.
