Family Saturday: Spidertales

Join us as we kick off our 2021/22 Logan Center Family Saturday Season! Venture into the tricky world of the spider, learning a variety of spider folktales, spinning spider arts and crafts, and watching the brilliance of Anansi Spider films unfold!

Spider Puppetry with Nitsana Lazerus
Enjoy the gift of puppetry with Nitsana Lazerus! Nitsana is a tri-lingual puppeteer who uses improvisation and original songs and stories to create imaginary worlds with our puppet friends! 

2-4pm / In-Person
Family Saturday at the Logan Center
Anansi the Spider
Anansi, a trickster, is one of the most prominent characters in West African, Caribbean, and African American Folklore. The day's events will observe and celebrate the African Diasporic tradition of oral storytelling, and culminate in a performance by the Community Actors Program.

  • 2-4pm Spider-themed Arts and Crafts with Desire’e from Live Arts Studio
  • 2-3pm Spidertales with Storyteller Emily Hooper Lansana
  • 3-4pm Anansi: The Pot of Wisdom

Please note: children and youth under age 12 are exempt from the Logan Center's vaccination requirement. However, all attendees, regardless of age or vaccination status, are required to wear masks while attending this event.
