Quantum computing is a type of computation that harnesses the collective properties of quantum states–, such as superposition, interference, and entanglement–, to perform calculations. The devices that perform these quantum computations are known as quantum computers.

Join C2ST and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory to learn about the Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Center (SQMS) and the researchers behind it!

The SQMS center at Fermilab brings together an interdisciplinary team of more than 80 experts in superconducting technologies, condensed matter physics, materials science, atomic physics, theoretical particle physics, and key areas of quantum information science. It is at SQMS where critical steps are being taken to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with quantum computers.
