National Poetry Month “Promptstravaganza!”

  • April 02, 2022
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Zoom, Story Studio

T. S. Elliot said “April is the Cruelest Month.” Whether you’re carrying a poem in your pocket, doing a 30 for 30, or reading a book a day, April is National Poetry Month, and what better way to start out the month than by generating lots of poems?

This single-session course will have various prompts and writing activities to give participants a body or work that they can take with them and dabble at during the month of April! Activities will be open but also push writers to break their traditional voice and see if there is a poem deep down that maybe just hasn’t come to fruition yet. The prompts will work with a writers’ craft, style, content and personal experiences.

This class will include writing exercises, discussion, light reading and Q&A. Participants will be encouraged to bring an original poem and a personal computer, but neither are required.

Grades 8 - 10. $10. Click here for complete details and registration.
