  • 1:00 PM
  • Oriental Institute Museum, The University of Chicago

Ages 10+

Free for OI Members, $5 students, $10 adults

Have you ever wanted to look at DNA without the help of a microscope? Have you ever been curious about the more scientific side of archaeology? Come check out our new aDNA program!

Together, we will learn how to extract DNA from bananas, so we can see it without the aid of a microscope. Then, we will learn about how and why archaeologists use DNA in their research. Additionally, you will learn about the new methodologies and discoveries archaeologists have made thanks to aDNA from OI and Pritzker School experts!

The OI Museum is excited to partner with UChicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering to host this Science Café program.
