Medals for my Hero

  • March 11, 2023
  • Pritzker Military Museum & Library, Chicago

The Pritzker Military Museum & Library welcomes families to come together to create lasting memories that inspire young learners through fun, dynamic, and diverse programming. We believe in using creative approaches to make learning about military history accessible to guests of all ages.

Every branch of the United States military uses medals to recognize and honor the achievements and sacrifices of its service members, and there is no medal more prestigious than the Medal of Honor. Awarded to service members for acts of bravery “above and beyond the call of duty,” the Medal of Honor is how our country shows its appreciation for the most exceptional heroes of our military.

Join us at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library to celebrate the heroes who have earned Medals of Honor, as well as the heroes in your own life. Together, we will look at a real-life Medal of Honor and learn more about the history of this important award. After that, we will create special medals to show our appreciation for heroes in our own lives.
