Family Day: Design Your Own Flag

  • May 13, 2023
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Smart Museum of Art, The University of Chicago

Drop by for the continuation of our "Create-a-Country" series of Family Days. Dream, vision, and build imaginary countries, designed by kids and inspired by ideas and artworks presented throughout the Smart Museum this spring.

This Saturday, design and make your imaginary country’s flag. Flags display many meanings and use symbols, color, and graphic design to show what a country aspires to be. Become a junior vexillographer and create your flag using felt, scissors, and glue.

FREE, drop-in. Art-making supplies and other materials are provided. Family programs are best for kids 4–12, but all ages are welcomed! Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
