Dr. Angel Alvarez, a member of our community, invites you to an online presentation about his research about CPS acceleration policies.

He states: "My research showed significant underutilization of accelerated placement options for academically gifted students in CPS. Moreover, it revealed how current CPS policies intended to make admission to gifted and classical schools more inclusive may disadvantage low-income students of color. I am giving the talk because CPS is likely to vote on its acceleration placement policy at its upcoming meeting. I want to encourage people to submit public comments for CPS to remove barriers for gifted students to be educated at their level of functioning."
