Woodland Family Hike

Explore the Arboretum’s diverse tree collections on guided hikes for participants of all ages.

Explore seasonal themes on guided, family-paced hikes through the Arboretum’s diverse tree collections. Participants will hone their observation skills as they discover how trees support humans, animals, and other plants. Themes and locations visited change monthly.

September: Of the Earth. Tour some of the installations in the Arboretum’s current outdoor art exhibition, and then use natural materials to create a piece that expresses your own connection to nature.

Early October: Fall Color. Appreciate the intricate beauty of trees on a leisurely hike around Meadow Lake.

Late October: Thankful for Illinois Prairies. Explore how prairies have sustained people over the centuries as we enter the season of gratitude.

This program meets in person at the Arboretum.

Instructor: Emilian Geczi, manager of early childhood programs, The Morton Arboretum

Age: Recommended for families with children aged 4 and older.

$10 Morton Arboretum member. $17 guest per session
