Teen Studio Workshop: Experiments in Clay

  • February 24, 2024
  • 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Art Institute Chicago

The 36 artists featured in Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan pushed boundaries, challenged gender-roles, and invented new ways to use clay to create fantastical forms. Inspired by the show, this teen workshop encourages participants to experiment with air dry clay, paper, wire, and more.

This workshop will be led by teaching artist Grace Needlman. All materials will be provided.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

Grace Needlman (they/she) is a Chicago-based puppet designer and facilitator. They make multi-media sculpture objects and environments for performance, working collaboratively with other artists to tell moving human stories.
