"The Tragedy of Macbeth"
By William Shakespeare
Directed by David Skidmore

Feb. 27 - March 1, 2015

Mark your calendar now for the third performance of our 20th Anniversary Season.  We will present FREE performances of William Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of Macbeth" February 27 - March 1, 2015 at our four Chicago-area venues.

Shakespeare's "Macbeth" is a tragedy of ambition and hubris, haunted by the supernatural in the form of wiches and ghosts. Macbeth is fresh off a glorious military victory when he is given a once in a lifetime opportunity to advance his station in life. His wife is famously enthusiastic about his chance to be king - and she his queen - and has some ideas about how to make that happen. What begins so promisingly ends worlds later, across an ocean of innocent blood, in a journey almost incomprehensible to modern audiences. But while we don't often see witches and ghosts in our lives, aren't we all haunted in some ways?  Our dreams, our regrets; people we have wronged, people who have wronged us -- all exert their pull. Join us as David Skidmore directs this classic tale of a man who reached for the brass ring and found it a hangman's noose.  Cast of "Macbeth" includes Melissa Carlson, Jeff Christian, Tony Dobrowolski, Matthew Fahey, Luca Joseph, James Krag, Chris Landis, Scott Lynch-Giddings, Michael Joseph Mitchell, Michael Pesoli, Gail Rastorfer, Michelle Shupe, Fredric Stone, Charles Stransky, Barbara Zahora.
