The study of brain function has come a long way in recent years. With the advent of non-invasive research tools such as functional MRIs and EEGs researchers can now study live, uninjured subjects and are consequently making great strides.  Interested in learning a little more about what causes giftedness and how it actually manifests in the brain? Come join us for a workshop lead by Kimberlee King. 

Kimberlee King is a parent/life coach and educational consultant for families of gifted and twice-exceptional students. She is a lecturer on the needs and development of the gifted and learning disabled and/or emotionally challenged, commonly referred to as twice-exceptional. King is also a CTI trained life coach. She has served on the board of trustees of an independent school for gifted children. King’s specific area of concern is how the brain learns and processes information especially as it relates to diverse learners (AD/HD, dyslexia, giftedness, slow processing, learning disabilities, perfectionism and anxiety to name a few). This knowledge, coupled with her own experience with dyslexia, epilepsy and numerous medical challenges, has landed King in the unique position of being able to empathize deeply with families struggling to help their very bright child thrive in a world that was not designed with their processing styles in mind. King is the mother of four children who also are each uniquely gifted and challenged.
