Calling Frog Survey Workshop (ages 10+)

  • February 16, 2016
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Edward L. Ryerson Welcome Center, Riverwoods

Join Lake County Forest Preserve biologist Gary Glowacki for a workshop dedicated to identifying and monitoring frog species in the county.

Lake County Forest Preserves is hosting one of the regional workshops for frog call monitors. This workshop is for both beginner and experienced monitors. As a team we will all contribute valuable information that will help amphibians in our region. We’ll teach and review the calls of our 13 species of frogs and toads, help new monitors find survey sites and discuss the monitoring protocol. Experienced monitors are encouraged to attend in order to learn any protocol changes, obtain data sheets, review frog calls and share lessons learned from the past.

Adults and children 10 and up (accompanied by an adult)
