Monarch Butterfly Festival

  • September 18, 2016
  • 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens, Palos Heights

Get up close to hundreds of monarch butterflies! Enjoy a unique and magical experience walking through our butterfly tent. Around 400 butterflies will be released into two tents for families to enjoy.

This year we have TWO butterfly tents to enable hundreds of children and adults to get up close to
the monarch butterflies.
The festival, which is between 11am and 4.30pm also has face-painting, live animals, an arts & crafts fair, a migration maze through the prairie, children's crafts, storytime, scarecrow making, food & drink vendors and an education tent.

Tickets are $6 per person and free entry for children two and under. Free gift bag for children wearing butterfly or insect costumes, while supplies last!

After the festival the butterflies will be released into the wild.
