Curiosity Hacked is designed to support the next generation of makers, explorers, entrepreneurs and leaders through activities that blend creativity with technical skill through the study of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).



When:  3:00 - 5:00, Saturdays, 2nd Saturday of the month, generally; September - May; first meeting September 24

Location:  exact locations TBA, will likely include Oak Park area libraries and possibly a location in River Grove, IL

Who:  Kids, ages 7-12

Led by Elaine Luther, Aaron Wilson-Alstrum and teen volunteer.

We are a local chapter of the national organization, Curiosity Hacked and sponsored locally by CGCC.

What:  Earning physical badges from Adafruit and DIY.org, learning maker skills, electronics and doing design/build challenges.  

This year’s badges will include Animator, Printmaker and more.  Participants will also create an LED bracelet using conductive thread, and go on field trips.

Registration fee includes the purchase of badges, materials, supplies and a T-shirt.  There may be additional fees for extra field trips or a soldering kit, but we try to keep this to a minimum.
