Introduce a Girl To Engineering Day

  • February 18, 2017
  • 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • University of Illinois, Urbana

Why is engineering so SWEet?

To help answer this question and help high school students understand just how SWEet engineering is, the University of Illinois Society of Women Engineers is hosting its annual high school outreach event, Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED).

The event includes guest speakers, interactive activities, a hands-on design challenge, and much more! It will be held from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on February 18th, 2017 at the University of Illinois Materials Science and Engineering Building (1304 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801).

Through this event we hope to expose girls to the variety of engineering disciplines and help them build the confidence to visualize themselves as future engineers. This is a great event for those who are interested in exploring impactful career options, those who want to learn about cool applications of math and science, or those who just want to learn about something new.

Registration form  closes Thursday February 9th. The $5 registration fee includes lunch and t-shirt.

Please don't hesitate to contact any of us on the IGED coordinating team (uiuciged2017@gmail.com) with any questions.
