Family Day - Sewing and Citizenship

  • February 04, 2017
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Smart Museum of Art, The University of Chicago

Drop by and join in the Smart's free family activities every month! Each Family Day features hands-on art activities designed to inspire children to think about and respond creatively to art and the world around them.

Chicago-based artist Aram Han Sifuentes leads a collaborative embroidery workshop.

Stitch intricate designs that reflect the fabric of our neighborhoods, city, nation, and shared planet. Inspired by the Smart Museum’s collection-based project on Belonging and Sifuentes’ US Citizenship Test Samplers project at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum.

Free. All materials provided. Activities best for kids ages 4–12, accompanied by an adult.
