Gifted 102: More Things to Know

About Raising a Gifted Child

Buzz Cafe

905 S Lombard, Oak Park, IL

Did you know that along with being very bright, gifted children share other characteristics, such as:

  • A dislike of noisy places and a rejection of most kinds of socks and a dislike of tags
  • Moving or fiddling with things, constantly
  • Daydreaming and flights of fancy
  • Enormous empathy
  • Learning to swim or to ride a bike or to tie a shoe much later than others

We will also be talking about:

  • Identification of gifted kids
  • Advocating for your gifted child at school
  • Gifted programming
  • Laws governing gifted education

We had a fantastic discussion last month, but ran out of time. Come join us as we pick up the conversation and have more time for discussion. Whether you were able to join us last month or not, this is a night not to be missed. Come and find support from other parents with gifted kids.

Our discussion will be led by CGCC president Newenka DuMont, the mother of two gifted daughters, Illinois Association for Gifted Children board member and SENG model parent group facilitator.

Come join the discussion. Register today! Registration is free for CGCC members. Non-members pay a non-refundable $5. (Fee waivers are available.)

Won't you consider helping us build a community of gifted families by joining CGCC today? Annual membership is only $25.  Join
