This month, join in a unique interactive melange of music and story activities, from long ago through today, from the Newberry collection, including selections from Debussy’s La Boîte à Joujoux/The Toybox; The Children’s Book of 100 Pictures; Why Be a Goop?; and Down-adown-Derry: A Book of Fairy Poems. We’ll close with a hands-on Musical Instrument Petting Zoo!

This week, pianistMabel Kwan joins the Trikes. Kwan performs with Ensemble Dal Niente, Pesedjet, Restroy, and big TEEN’s Mega Laverne and Shirley.

This fall’s new series for children, on the second Saturday morning of each month, features the Lucky Trikes storytelling chamber band. Drawing on children’s books from the Newberry collection, the Trike’s Deirdre Harrison and Kyle Price, joined by musicians from Chicago’s thriving new music scene, will create a unique music and story experience for each program.
