Parenting Adventures in the Digital Realm:

From Surviving to Thriving

How can we best support our kids in developing the skills necessary to participate creatively and make healthy choices in the digital realm?

In this interactive presentation, we’ll explore how to nurture conversations and family practices that reduce conflict, support dialogue, and build trust. We’ll consider how to model for our kids the essential ability to reflect on and self-monitor online and mobile activities (e.g., games, texting, Facebook, etc.) and offline life (e.g., Vitamin N—Nature, face-to-face friendships, hands-on making) with an eye towards balance and growth. We’ll discuss how to get our heads above media-driven fears to identify real issues that require our mindful awareness.

Participants will leave the workshop with a palette of resources and an invitation to a follow-up online session (free) to reflect and share how it’s going.

Fee: $30.00 for SENG Members;  $40.00 for Non-Members
