University Symphony Orchestra: Halloween Concerts "Witches, Winds, and Whirls!"

Mandel Hall

Two performances: 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Howling winds and stormy skies form the backdrop for the University Symphony Orchestra 2017 Halloween Concert. With costumes, storytelling, and special effects, the USO presents the Witches’ Ride from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel; Dvorak’s The Noonday Witch; Tchaikovsky’s early tone poem The Storm; music from Wicked; and, for another kind of whirlwind, Salome’s Dance of the Seven Veils by Richard Strauss. Dancers from the Hyde Park School of Dance add to the evening’s entertainment. Audience costumes encouraged.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Admission is free. Donations requested at the door: $10 general, $5 students/children.
