Lunch 'N Learn: Adolescent Anxiety

  • February 02, 2018
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • Fusion Lincoln Park, Chicago

Join Fusion Academy Lincoln Park and Dr. Amelia Powelson for a discussion about adolescent anxiety.

Amelia is a licensed psychologist at Encircle Psychological Services, a private practice located in the West Loop. She received her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. In addition to specializing in health psychology, Amelia has expertise in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, life transition issues, and social skills challenges. She often works with adolescents and their families to increase positive healthy behaviors, reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance communication skills.

Join us for an educational, open and inspirational dialogue with parents, teachers, and professionals over lunch! The development of anxiety is a common response to bullying, which comes in many forms and is easier than ever with the use of social media. Learn to identify when your child is exhibiting symptoms of anxiety and determine whether bullying is one of the underlying causes. Recognizing and understanding your child’s experiences will help initiate change and allow your child to live a healthier, happier life.

Bring friends, and any questions you may have.
