Community Education Night


The transition to college is an exciting and vulnerable time. Compassionate, expert guidance can help your student establish a thoughtful and self-aware strategy for meeting the opportunities and challenges to come. Megan Bernard, founder of Kairos College Success Consulting, will present common issues that arise in life after high school and offer methods for supporting your student on their path to and through college. We will discuss:

  • Four factors that make students more likely to graduate 
  • Parenting moves to support students through their first year
  • Insight into the normal transitions of the first year
  • Tactics for mastering the three functions of college: learning, meeting, and earning
  • Campus resources that every student can use to their benefit

About Our Speaker

Megan Bernard, founder of Kairos College Success Consulting, has coached hundreds of students through successful, meaningful college experiences and on to careers, graduate school, and professional degrees. She is an experienced university instructor and veteran academic advisor who provides compassionate and thorough support to diverse student populations. In her work with young adults, she integrates her professional expertise with scholarly research and theory on student development, effective teaching and learning, and career preparation to provide insightful mentoring and training.

She is renowned for her exceptional commitment to students' well-being and learning and for offering invaluable guidance during both ordinary transitions and especially difficult circumstances. Kairos College Success provides coaching and mentoring services for emerging adults to secure their academic achievements, personal growth, and professional development in college and beyond. Dr. Bernard has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, where she was a Fellow in both the Center for Leadership and the Searle Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning.
