This course will focus on some of the great poets as well as introduce and expand knowledge on various poetry and writing styles. Each week we will discover a new poet and read aloud poetry. There will be activities in class to create new works individually and collaborate with others. We will build a poetry journal with selections from our favorite poems. This will also give students an opportunity to work on penmanship and presentation. Our final project will include memorization and presentation of a poem of their choosing.

Minimum Requirements: Ability to read and write independently. Motivation and willingness to make the most of the class and learn from others.

Materials: Composition notebook, pencils and pen.

Minimum/maximum number of students: 4/10

Age range: 7-10

Price: $26

Noel has a B. A. in English Literature and has been homeschooling her children for 6 years. She has a passion for the written word and exploring new ideas.
