Dr. Lisa Randall
During this talk, Dr. Randall explores the latest developments in physics that have the potential to radically revise our understanding
of the world: its makeup, its evolution and the fundamental forces that drive its operation. An expert on both particle physics (the study of the smallest objects of which we know) and cosmology (the study of the largest), she shows how we decide which scientific
questions to study and how we go about answering them. She will also examine the role of risk, creativity, uncertainty, beauty and truth in scientific thinking. One of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world, Dr. Randall is a professor at
Harvard University, where she studies theoretical particle physics and cosmology, currently focusing on dark matter.
