After receiving counseling degree, became certified in EMDR and eventually specialized in working with Attachment Trauma. Practicing counselor for 20 years. I have always been interested in the intersection between science and mental health. Working towards becoming an EMDR Consultant. Active in NWSOFA Climate Change Committee.

Massive Fires, Floods, Drought, Migration, Extinction…The inescapable long-termed effects of Climate Change are now bombarding our news cycle and our psyches!  The last two years has produced a reported uptick in the cases of depression, anxiety and despair due to the increasing frequency of extreme weather events. The American Psychological Association named this condition “Eco-Anxiety” in 2017. The concern about the environment is real and founded in science; the response to it is up to us! Fight, flight, freeze or rather, look at our response as engage, deny or ignore. The most vulnerable population of people emotionally impacted by this information is our children.  Engagement is what they need from us. How do we adequately address this topic without traumatizing their innate ability to hope, while preparing them with resilience, for the realities of a changing world? Come find out!
