Tuesday, May 26, for parents of Middle & High Schoolers   Registration

Schooling-at-home instruction and requirements vary from school to school and even from day-to-day, making it difficult for students and parents to develop and maintain a routine. Parents are also juggling other demands such as work, scarcity, and other family needs when everyone's mental health and stamina are being taxed. Situations are complicated by the fact that in the best of times 2e students are often anxious, depressed, and struggling to cope with everyday school responsibilities. Parents may be asking:

How many hours a day should school work take?

How do we manage breaks?

How much recreational screen time should we allow?

How do we manage stress and maintain our family's mental health and well being?

These and other questions will be addressed by three experts from the fields of education and mental health. They will share their perspectives and offer strategies and suggestions on how families can get through these challenging times, including resources and suggestions to promote creativity and self-directed learning.

Lois Baldwin, Ed D, Educational Consultant for 2e Students

Jacqueline Shaw, MA, Teacher, Parent

Melissa Sornik, LCSW, Clinical Psychotherapist, 2e Consultant, TECA President

Moderator: Maratea Cantarella, TECA Executive Director
