  • March 16, 2022
  • 3:00 PM
  • Online, Bridges 2e Center for Research and Professional Development

Host Maria Kennedy will be in conversation with Nicole Kaplan and Nicolette Hoffman talking about educational therapy and holistic nutrition.

The Bridges 2e Center for Research and Professional Development is delighted to bring you a fourth season of Crucial Conversations about Cognitive Diversity! Formerly known as Critical Conversations about Cognitive Diversity, this monthly webcast features in-depth conversations with the top minds in gifted and twice-exceptional education.

Nicole Kaplan received her undergraduate degree in English Literature, with an emphasis in Education, from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Special Education with a specialization in Educational Therapy from California State University Northridge. She is also an active member of the Association of Educational Therapists. For over two decades, Nicole has seen clients in a private practice setting collaborating with students, parents, teachers, learning specialists, psychologists, and neuropsychologists creating game plans tailored to her client’s specific academic and social/emotional needs. She works from a strengths-based perspective, helping students overcome or compensate for learning challenges. Nicolette Hoffman was a gifted child that needed to be challenged. Being brought up in the public school system presented limitations: frustrations in learning, poor communication with teachers, and being misunderstood constantly. It became apparent in high school that Nicolette needed more support and was given an ADHD diagnosis and stimulant medication. She went on to become a chef and ultimately left to begin working for an LA-based raw food, supplement, and wellness company. This is where she began her herbal education. Now, Nicolette is a private wellness chef and nutritionist and continues her learning in San Miguel de Allende with midwives, herbalists, and wise women.
