A Woman Killed With Kindness

  • January 19, 2013
  • 2:00 PM
  • Wilmette Public Library

Founded in 1996, the Shakespeare Project of Chicago was created to bring to life the words of William Shakespeare and the world’s other great dramatists; to foster the talents of members of Actors’ Equity Association, the professional union of actors and stage managers; and to present the plays to members of our community for free.

A Woman Killed With Kindness – January 18-20, 2013
by Thomas Heywood

““Oh God, Oh God! That it were possible to undo things done; to call back yesterday!”

The Shakespeare Project continues its exploration of Shakespeare’s contemporaries when we present this rarely seen Jacobean middle-class tragedy play by Thomas Heywood, who is believed to have written over 200 plays. The play, considered by many to be Heywood’s masterpiece, tells the story of Anne Frankford, a newly married wife, who makes a life-changing choice and its devastating repercussions. Peter Garino directs.
