Composers, inventors, playwrights, and architects all depend on a piece of paper to communicate their ideas, so someone else can realize them. Comparing a musical score with play scripts and architectural drawings reveals the difficulties in conveying complex ideas with words and abstract symbols. This concert traces the path from composition to performance, via the blueprint of a musical score.

Proceeds from concert ticket sales directly benefit all of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra ensembles. Prices are $23 for adults, $18 senior citizens, and $14 for children and students. A $1 facility fee is added to each ticket.
